About

This page is dedicated to my professional experience as a translator.

My interest to foreign languages appeared when I was a child - I came across a cute little black book, which turned out to be English-Russian-English dictionary. I was fascinated to learn that in different countries people speak different languages.

When I was studying at school apart from English lessons that were on schedule I was trying to grasp Italian and Polish on my own. But at that time I planned to enter the economical faculty after school. So I was studying in the economical class, but the farther it went the stronger I felt that my heart wasn't in it. So I chose the faculty of foreign languages of Voronezh State University (in my hometown). In 2003 I graduated with honor as an English translator, with Spanish as my second foreign language. I refused to take postgraduate studentship and went to Moscow. There I began to work as a freelancer, then had some office work, and meanwhile started to translate fiction. Then there was more freelancing and again full-time work as an editor in a major translation agency. And now I'm freelancing again.

I mainly translate from English into Russian and vice versa, but in the year 2006 I started translating from Spanish as well and editing Scandinavian fiction translated into Russian.

I really enjoy my work and constantly develop my skills, tackling both new topics for translation and new languages.

On these pages you'll be able to read whatever I've done by now and whatever I can do for you. I decided not to place any samples of my translations, but you can find them in my ProZ profile or address me, and I will find something similar to the topic you are interested in.
